About Cindy
I am Educated in fine art with an interest in sculpture. In 2018 I returned to college to expand my medium with a BFA in Ceramics at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, MA. I have been working polymer clay for over 16 years, and professionally since 2017. I am drawn to polymer clay for its versatility and ability to help articulate a creative voice. The transition from polymer clay to ceramics made sense to me and has enabled me to work larger as well as opened more creative doors for me.
Born and raised in a small town on the coast of New England my surroundings inspire all of my work. I am inspired by the beauty and symmetry of nature, and the empathetic connection we share with each other and animals. My ancestors are from a small European Island and they thrived by the grace of the ocean. This strong connection to the comfort and mystery of the ocean has really presented itself in my work. As a mom of 4 little ones I am increasingly concerned with the fragility of our planet and it’s future. I try to depict the beautiful, delicate, and subtle qualities of my surroundings though my sculptures in hopes it will help others to appreciate all that nature provides us. Each of my polymer clay sculptures are individually sculpted and hand painted. My sculptures have been displayed at local Galleries, and have received a 2018 juror’s choice, and member’s choice, International Polymer clay award. Several of my sculptures (as well as acrylic paintings) are in private collections.
